Christmas 2024 we gifted Connor and Sawyer a trip to Epic and Universal. We had talked about doing this trip…or actually, we had talked about going to Disney. The more we researched our options the more we realized that our 2 teen boys would enjoy Universal so much more. Epic ended up being a huge surprise for us. We’d never heard of it but it was obvious as we researched that this was the latest and greatest of the Universal parks. We could only (per park rules) go one day. We got a package deal and ended up with 3 days at the older parks.

This was easily one of our best trips ever. We had a rocky start due to needing to change plans the beginning of our trip and an unexpected and heart-altering funeral….which one day, I’ll try to put into words. ….BUT, the show went on because we had nonrefundable tickets and truly, our loved one would have wanted us to enjoy this. ❤️

We enjoyed a break here and there because it was HOT but not too hot. They had these free drink stations….and I use the word free so kindly here…you had to buy these certain cups and then they were refillable……worth every single dime!!!

This place…..after I’ve read every book and watched every movie….Harry Potter world at the Universal parks and shown here at Epic were beyond magical.

The Isle of Berg from the How to Train Your Dragon movie was probably our most shocking favorite place. For one, we somehow managed to feel like one of very few people that went their our first morning and night so ….no crowds! Also, It was way cooler than I can even describe.

This was Mario World and the boys’ pretty clear favorite. It really did feel like you entered the Mario World. …they had an amazing restaraunt and was a clear favorite for anyone with a kiddo.
….So, if you get the chance to go….GO!!!!! I’m quite certain we’ll never forget this trip and as soon as we were home, they were ready to plan another trip there…EEK!
and because we found more pictures…..Part 2….forgive the music….I know NOT what I do here!
We always heard that it was crazy busy the last week of May/first week of June….we did not find that to be the case. I heard that they only sold a certain amount of tickets the first week that Epic opened and we just so happened to buy our tickets for that week so that was a possible fortune. …..BUT, truth be told, the rest of Universal didn’t feel too bad. I think the only time we felt overcrowded was definitely at Diagon Alley in one of the regular Universal parks. ….one day, hopefully we can go again because the Epic park was a clear winner for us and really, my boys have never been to Disney so maybe we could attach that to it…..time will tell.
