More Random Happenings

We got a bit of a freakish few hours of snow last week. It didn’t last long but we probably got 4 or 5 inches and it was enough to satisfy my want of a wintry feeling though truth be told…I’m longing for porch days already! We did recently spot a pellet type stove and I wonder how much that would heat up our screened porch. This kerosene job is on its last leg …..when we have this going you definitely need to be out there. The decorations are kind of sad at the moment…leftover Christmas, no mugs or party things….BUT, I love the eeriness looking out. The trees and fogginess do it for me.

This is looking out the kitchen window…. the deer stay for a bit longer though I do need to take the giant silver and red bows off….it looks nice with the snow and oy….I’m thinking those prints are dogs visiting when I let them out! 😂

Friday night instead of pizza, I made pizza rolls and we watched the movie, David from Angel Studios……the movie was great though I did miss a good part of it having fell asleep…bummer. These were amazing and I just used the dough that I make when making subs….super yummy…cook the same time… If you’re on a roll, forget to add water to the bottom pan, pull the rolled up rolls out and add even more ridiculous amount of butter on top as you remedy your cooking method….. ask your people to call you amazing! xo

This was Sawyer…on Thursday or Friday……14 here…Snoop-dog on our left (looking so freaking cute because normally he’s acting like Eyore!) and Brownie on the right (dialing down his shine for Snoop). ……my boy here looks so handsome……..xo. These pups love their people… from Tristan and Lucian and Nika to all of my friends and most definitely waiting for Connor, Sawyer, and Mikey to come home during the week. I swear a home needs a dog….more than one if you can! (granted kitties are nice too but I am allergic so they’re outdoor loves now)

Same Sawyer….now 15 …..and oy…..sick as a dog now. He was not feeling so great this morning. We normally have a tray of donuts for their birthday breakfasts but teens start working out and wanting to not have all the sugar…..we had him blow out the candles so small prayer the rest of us don’t get sick. …..the cake I made went to work with Mikey this morning because bless his heart, Sawyer never even had a slice. It was good….we snuck some last night.

God bless urgent care….he tested positive for strep and the flu strain A…double whammy. We’re lucky enough that if any of us get this, we can simply use our app and visit a doctor to get the meds we would need. ….currently, he’s either sleeping or watching movies. Being sick is the worst.

The house is slowly shedding all things Christmas…..SLOWLY though…we like the lights….the days are still quite a bit shorter.

I’m still the nut that brings in seasonal decor and frankly….I hope that I’m always healthy enough to do these things. We are having a little OCD with the fact that if you look to the far left, that old banner is missing an X to start our xoxoxo….may have to remove an O!!!

I am seeing that I need to clean off the front of my electric fireplace. I love ‘puttering’ so this is at least one area that doesn’t get too dang dusty but the windex is rare. We have a window guy that we love so he comes out every spring to wash our windows. We have tons of windows, some quite high…and really, we like supporting this guy from Brazil. …..this area may change a tad soon because I bought a ton of frames that I found a great deal on so we can start printing out more pictures from our trips.

When we remodeled our kitchen and took away a bedroom, we added a 13 foot island. Honestly, this island prevents us from loving newer homes or sometimes when we consider moving and enjoy ‘armchair shopping’ homes….this bad boy keeps us in this older house…plus, apparently our boys really love our home ….which, how cool is that? We have friends and family with way cooler homes …and usually, much bigger.!…BUT, as all good people know, a happy home keeps people happy. And a happy mama tends to love on her people…and this tends to spread and make those people happy and good in the world. ❤️. This stuff has absolutely nothing to do with the added fluff or money……just being content. …clearly my house is far from a ‘magazine’ home…I’m a little messy/cluttery though I have moments when spaces need to be totally clear….regardless, we love our home.

Tech tips for my ‘Apple’ people…if you have the latest MacBook Air updates….you can place your phone on the screen and even use your old iPad as a 2nd screen…….also, when texting on your iPhone (which those that are gifted with my correspondence know I’m blind as a bat and constantly messing up my words or talking into it and Siri is mucking it all up)….anyway, if you read it again (I occasionally do this before I make you decipher my mistakes), you can just hold down the space bar (on the bottom of the iPhone’s typepad) and use it as a scroll pad to go back and fix typos. ….very cool.

Okay…most of my family are NOT Catholic but are sometimes, curious. I’m thinking of having a page totally dedicated to Faith…..MY faith specifically. I’d definitely give you a disclaimer that this is my interpretation and hopefully I’m getting anything Biblical totally correct….but I’d hopefully answer your questions and you could see a little about Catholicism and just have my own insight. You can choose to look or not and it’d be separate from the regular blog for those that have no interest at all…I’ll still love you and hopefully, you’ll still love me. ….currently, one of my oldest BFF’s and I are doing a Jeff Cavins bible study…specifically the bible timeline study…very cool so far but I’m the type that goes down crazy rabbit holes because I love to validate, cross-reference, see historical significance, etc. ….and really, I used to be huge into bible notes and bible art but once again, my eyes are awful….and I’m a pretty quick typist…. ….Anywho, that’s it. Probably going to happen since I’m doing all this ultimately for my family and myself. I hate the thought of forgetting things and I enjoy the thought that I just may inspire someone out there. …also, I’m really needing to update that profile page. I like what Grok did and how I made it a little more mine but I’d prefer this to ALL be my words.

(also, today is my Daddy’s birthday…he’s 79! long and awesome life from what I’ve always seen….cancer has sucked but it’s not defining him and that is a lesson! …..see you all next time…enjoy today!
